This is an opportunity for a graduate to be involved in a project which will transform a legacy business into one fit for our time. We have placed innovation at the heart of our business plan over the last three years and have made excellent progress in becoming a fully digital publisher.
The graduate will allow us to place more focus on our Moray newsbrands and how they truly become digital first.
We will encourage and support the graduate to enhance their skills through external industry training courses, by spending time in other media companies to learn best practice and through local networking opportunities.
The graduate will experience working with colleagues from all across our business and at all levels. The size of our organisation and flat management structure means that recommendations and strategies the graduate puts in place can be quickly given approval and make an immediate difference to the business.
On successful completion of the first year’s employment the graduate will receive a bonus of £1,000. The ambition is that this post becomes a critical role in our business, with a salary to reflect that, and that it becomes permanent.
HNM has a hybrid approach to home/office working - three days working from home and two days from our Elgin office. We have an evolving strategy to ensure that all colleagues feel informed, included and motivated.
They will be part of the content marketing team and be managed by our social media specialist with input from our Moray Editor and Multi Media Manager. This will involve being given clear KPI's, a structure around their working week, regular one-to-ones and being part of newsroom meetings.
All IT kit required to carry out the role will be supplied, including: a Chromebook, additional screen, keyboard and mouse for home working, and mobile phone.
The graduate will take part in a three day on-boarding to HNM course.
Given the importance of this role the graduate and their line-manager will meet with the Managing Director once each month to review progress.
