At More House School (Frensham), we empower students to transform their futures. Here, boys with literacy and languagerelated special educational needs (including Dyslexia and Developmental Language Disorder) discover their strengths and find selfbelief.
Our truly inclusive model combines a rich mainstream academic curriculum with adaptive teaching and specialist intervention. As one community, we nurture pupils’ academic, creative, sporting and social development. Our specialist approach in every classroom ensures teaching is adapted so all pupils can access learning, build skills and make exceptional progress. Our Learning Development Centre is a key part of school life, in which all pupils receive specialist input and therapeutic support, depending on individual needs.
With strong foundations in core subjects and an extensive range of noncore options, pupils of every age are encouraged to explore their interests and uncover talents that may have gone unnoticed elsewhere. Beyond the classroom, we offer an inspiring cocurricular programme, including enrichment activities, charitable initiatives, clubs, day trips and residentials across the UK and abroad. As a result, our students achieve academic and social outcomes well above national averages and expectations for learners with SEND.
Our boarders’ experiences are stimulating and happy. Our provision is built on a close partnership between families and the school, ensuring each pupil feels secure, understood and encouraged. As Ofsted noted in 2026, “Parents highlight staff commitment, describing care as ‘second to none’ and noting the positive impact the boarding provision has on students’ development and their wellbeing.” We offer full and weekly boarding, with fixednight parttime boarding available from September 2026. Many Forces families choose us as a trusted homefromhome, valuing the stability, specialist care and opportunities boarding provides. Whether a pupil boards termly or only on selected nights, we believe in converting daily travel time into social confidence, extra-curricular activities and supported study time.
Nationally recognised as a centre of excellence, More House has an 86year history of enabling boys with specific learning and languagerelated difficulties to achieve far beyond their expectations. We are a registered specialist school with the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils (CReSTeD) and consistently receive the highest possible Ofsted gradings, most recently in our 2026 boarding and social care inspection and our 2023 wholeschool dual inspection.
Our main points of entry are Years 4–6, Year 7 and Year 12.
For many boys, the Junior Years at More House mark the moment everything changes. Families often arrive carrying the weight of difficult school experiences, feeling misunderstood or overlooked, and quickly find that this begins to shift. Joining our school in the Junior Years means benefitting from the entire More House journey — building confidence, independence and ambition from the outset.
The Middle Years bring a supported transition into the senior school environment. Starting in Year 7 gives pupils the time and space to grow in confidence, independence and resilience before stepping into the ambitious academic curriculum and extensive cocurricular opportunities of the Senior Years and Sixth Form.
In the Sixth Form, our Year 11 pupils progress naturally into an environment that understands how they learn and celebrates who they are. New students joining from other schools find a fresh start in an environment designed specifically for learners with literacy and languagebased SEND. Our academic, pastoral, therapeutic and boarding teams work closely to ensure every student settles quickly and feels known. With a wide choice of ALevel and BTEC subjects, students can explore their interests, discover new strengths and choose a pathway that reflects their passions and ambitions.
