Top trends for your big day decor

Whatever your budget, you will find a theme, style and decor that works for your wedding!

Styles can be adapted and tailored into smaller-scale, more intimate settings without compromising on the wow factor.

There are some top trends for 2026 and 2027 weddings; from Bridgerton/Regency-style drama, multi-sensory dining tables to floralscapes.

Weddings are also becoming far more personalised and immersive for couples, their families and guests; think hand-written or illustrated invitations or your very own branded wedding merch!

Not sure where to start? The Moray Wedding Show on Sunday, September 20 is a must-visit to help you plan your big day. You can meet the exhibitors, see beautiful bridal and occasion wear, and find all the fresh ideas and inspiration you need to bring your vision to life.

Something blue

Blue has long been associated with weddings and today it’s all about ‘Bridgerton’s blue’! The colour, from the softest powder blue to a darker rich indigo, features heavily in the hit Netflix period drama set in early 1800s London.

Consider blue hues in your decor; from table linens and centrepieces, to glassware and floral arrangements.

Other top trends inspired by the Bridgerton-style Regency era include draped curtains and romantic swags, chandeliers, layered table settings, chinoiserie, velvet and lace detailing. You don’t have to transform your wedding into a period TV set! But these subtle accents can be incorporated into any theme or venue.

Multi-sensory settings

Elevate your table settings with multi-sensory style! In addition to flowers and greenery, decorate your table with fruits, nuts, nibbles such as olives, or chocolates and sweets in decorative wrapping or dishes. Not only will they look fabulous amongst your beautiful blooms, guests will be able to smell and eat them too!

Floralscapes

A top trend this year is to create a floralscape with your blooms and greenery for the ceremony, reception and tables. A flower wall makes a beautiful backdrop for exchanging vows or taking photos. Sculptural shapes are trending right now. Consider a circular or geometric-shaped arbour in place of a traditional archway when you say your ‘I dos’. Use seasonal flowers and foliage or let your venue inspire your choice. Wildflowers such as daisies and poppies, or plum, apple and cherry blossom branches are perfect for outdoor or rustic ceremonies. Or create a contemporary sleek floralscape with sculptural flowers such as elegant white calla lilies, dahlias or tulips in tall clear-glass vases.

It’s personal

Couples really want to put their own stamp on their wedding – literally! Consider personalised merchandise (or favours!) that you can gift to your guests as a keepsake of the day. You can use photos, monograms, add your own logo or an illustration to gifts such as tote bags, coasters, key or bag charms, mini plant pots – almost anything! Or you can personalise gifts for individual guests using their names instead and a thank you. Consider putting your own handwriting on your wedding invitations on beautiful bespoke stationery. Don’t worry, you wouldn’t be penning all the invites! You can have your handwriting scanned and copied to each invitation.
