Always (always!) talk to the experts when styling your big day! They can help you with inspiration and ideas, the practicalities and logistics for the day, assist you with a planning checklist for the essentials, and all on a budget that works for you.
You’ll meet local wedding experts and suppliers at the Moray Wedding Show and with everyone under one roof, it’s a great opportunity to chat over your ideas and make appointments.
Suppliers, caterers, florists and entertainment are booked up well in advance, especially for peak season weddings, so start planning your theme several months before the date, around the same time as securing your venue.

From timeless and classic, modern Scottish or contemporary minimalism to winter wonderland or mix-and-match, there are no rules when it comes to styling out your wedding! Here are some ideas to make your big day beautiful – IRL and on TikTok too!
Romantic and classic never go out of style. Think delicately ruffled roses and peonies, crisp white linens, sparkling silver and glassware, elegant chandeliers or candelabra.
Rustic and boho is a top trend for outdoor weddings and non-traditional venues with a less formal vibe. Ceremony seating can be decorated simply with ribbons or posies, use natural fabrics such as muslin or hessian for table runners and complete the look with seasonal foliage such as pine cones and fir in the winter. Lanterns, fairy and tealights set the scene with a romantic glow.
Statement colours are trending for 2025 and 2026 with vibrant pops of hot pink, citrusy orange and yellow, cobalt blue, lavender and rich jewel tones for flowers to cakes, fashion to venue dressing.

From bouquets and buttonholes to dressing your ceremony and reception with floral installations, there is a lot to consider so aim to book a florist six to 12 months (or more!) ahead of your date. Also think about the time of year and consider seasonal blooms such as cherry blossom or daffodils for a spring wedding and sunflowers in the summer. For autumn and winter weddings incorporate mini pumpkins and conkers or juniper and holly sprigs in your decorations.

Weddings are more immersive today with couples looking to create an interactive experience for their family and friends. There are lots of ways to entertain your guests so they share in your big day rather than simply attend it. Book entertainment nine to 12 months in advance.

Sparklers, light installations and fireworks never fail to delight! Giant light letters make for great photos with family and friends as well as the happy couple, while sparklers and fireworks can signal your arrival at your reception – or departure – in style!
A 360-degree video booth is a fun way for your guests to create pictures and videos during your reception and share on socials.
Magicians, comedians, caricature artists, cartoonists and other roaming performers offer an interactive experience where guests can join in – if they wish! Remember, your guests can range from wee ones to very grown-ups so be sure to choose age-appropriate entertainers!
Hire a mixologist who will show your guests how to create cocktails with flair, book a whisky or gin-tasting masterclass, or have a live cooking station in addition to a sit-down meal or buffet where guests can see chef prepare fabulous dishes or desserts.
From DJs to live bands and ceilidhs, ensure your guests can dance the night away to top tunes. Discuss a setlist that includes tracks from across the decades and genres so there is something for all ages to enjoy!
