Frewen is extremely proud of its reputation for unlocking potential in each student, leading not only to academic success, but also preparing them to be confident adults in an ever-changing world. A broad curriculum is offered with a full range of GCSE courses and a wide range of Sixth Form options which provide transition to further/higher education and careers. An extensive range of extra-curricular activities is also offered, many using our excellent facilities and 60 acres of playing fields and grounds. Our experienced and committed boarding team provide full, weekly and flexi boarding in a nurturing home-from-home environment. Both of our boarding houses have a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where boarders truly feel at ease - and are located within the school’s grounds, where there is plenty of space to explore, play games and relax. As a result, our boarders have high levels of wellbeing and feel at the heart of the Frewen community, everyone can strive to do their best. We do our upmost to ensure that all students will leave our school as well-rounded, confident young adults ready to face the next challenge. A newly released definition of dyslexia, developed through the Delphi Study, was adopted by diagnostic professionals across the UK earlier this year, and represents a significant and progressive step forward in how dyslexia is understood and supported. Frewen is proud to be at the forefront of this development as our Headmaster played a direct role in shaping the redefinition as a Board Director of the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee, this reflects our broader commitment to pioneering best practice in dyslexia education. This unique and forward-thinking model allows us to extend our specialist teaching approach to a wider range of learners. It also provides a vital diagnostic pathway, offering assessments for dyslexia and co-occurring needs through our onsite multi-disciplinary team, which includes specialist teacher assessors, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Frewen’s most recent review in the Good Schools Guide reads: “Pupils are free to develop into the people they want to be. Staff encourage them to value themselves, and eventually walk, fully equipped, over the bridge to face the world beyond. What more could you ask from their school days?'
